Jefferson County is located in north central Colorado,
just west of the city of Denver. Golden is the county seat. Jefferson county touts itself as the
"Gateway to the Rockies", as it sits just east of the Colorado's
front range as a suburban county of Denver. The towns of Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Morrison,
Indian Hills and Evergreen are also within county limits.
